*My Crows* *My Art* *My Way*

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Hi Everyone!
Happy August!
Hope you're all well!

I've been working on a painting. It's not finished yet, but I would like to show you some of the progress pictures.
Sometimes, painting the "background", takes just as long as painting my crows. Many layers of paint!
And, it doesn't mean it's going to stay that way in the end! LOL!
Next, placement of my crow.
More detail. This is where I am now.
I'm excited to finish it. Hope you like what you see so far!
Big Hugs 😃

  7. Very nice. I love seeing it come to life and can't wait to see the final. I hope. Goodness, I've been so absent from the internet (for the inability to sit long) that I'm missing out on everything. Except for cheese. ;)

  9. I always enjoy seeing the process. It only makes the final result more intriguing, when we remember what went into it, what lives under the crow.

    Many kisses, my sweet Stacy!

  12. You know, it's funny that we really don't think about the work involved in making the backgrounds of painting. Obviously there's a lot to it. Thanks for sharing your step-by-step progress. It's always fun seeing your work. Hugs!

  28. I really do love the background. It reminds me of a cardigan I once asked a friend to knit. These days you can buy balls of wool made up of many different colours but back then you had to add each colour individually. It was a mammoth task but being a dear friend she completed it, and I wore it until it fell apart. She reminds me of it often and still calls it my coat of many colours. Thank you for sharing the process, I can see it will be even more beautiful when finished.

  29. WOW! ADORE the background of that image just for itself!! A crow will, of course, make it even more special but I really love seeing that background stand on it's own. Do you try to have that sense of completion be the way you know when the background is done? I mean, if you paint a background, do you feel it is "complete" even before the crows are added? Or do you try to see before hand where the crow will take it's place as you go along and leave that space a little open? BIG crow HUGS! XX

    1. Hey Nicolas
Before I paint my crow, yes, I do feel a sense of completion with my background. I might add a little more, after the crow is finished, but never a lot. And, yes, I do try to see where the crow will be before hand and leave a space a little open. Big Crow Hugs!

  30. For some artists, your vibrant background would be a work of art itself. It's fascinating to see how you develop your crows!

  32. I love how you did the background and I actually like it unfinished, a different look that would be.......
